Tools needed to get FTA channels on the DM500s

Read a few threads, a bit lazy, not all so may be duplicate sorry.. I have a DM500 working but many of the freeview channels show as encrypted. I have the connection working between my PC and the DM500s, I just need some pointers, what S/W do i need on my PC and is it possible to flash it to receive the free view channels. Do we need a sky freeview card (the cost 20.00) I will purchase if that's what I need. I'm using the DM500 as a PVR to record to my computer.
