Dreambox 500s Clone image that can provide decent EPG

    Hi,

I want to flash my box with a new image. But I want a image that a full EPG is possible (even a day EPG would be fine) now and next just doesnt cut it.

I have used Jade3 (also used the SQlite EPG on this) and also tested Darkstar2 so would like some other suggestions and even some download links if possible.

Read somewhere on here that neutrino is pretty good is this correct and is there a full EPG option.

I am only needing EPG for Sky UK.

as posted before mate, if you are after anything like the official Sky EPG then forget it.. the Dreambox 500S doesn't have the internal memory required and even with network mount it's not 100% either..

PLi images have the best support for EPG's..

If you want a better EPG then I'm afraid you will have to get a better box..

The Pli / SQLite / Radiotimes / Sgt FlipFlop combo is the best you will get

I thought we had sorted that for you last time ? http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...-store-173125/

If you are looking at Nuetrino, the latest Commando image and EPG grabber is a great image, especially if you are an ex Dbox user, as I think you were.

You will find it here http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...utrino-164279/ I have just made it a sticky.

It is currently supported by the lads and lady at UKcvs and yes the EPG grabber is a plug in, you will find it all explained in the thread.

If you do download it and use it please leave some feedback in their thread as this helps the developers and is one way of saying thanks.

OK have you tried it via Telnet before? Follow below:

To flash an image using Telnet

                          Back Up Exisiting Image First

To telnet, click START > RUN and type Telnet ip.address.of.dreambox
A command window will appear, enter username root and password dreambox.

To backup an image using Telnet

                          * Telnet to the box and paste the following command:

                          cat /dev/mtd/3 > /tmp/backup.img

                          * FTP to the box and navigate to the /tmp
                          * Here you will find the backup.img file. Copy it to your PC.

                          Flashing Via Telnet

This method will only work with a .img image file.

                          * Rename the image file to backup.img
                          * FTP the image file to the /tmp folder on the dreambox
                          * Telnet to your box and paste the following command:

                          cd /tmp && eraseall /dev/mtd/3 && cp backup.img /dev/mtd/3 && reboot

doing that and when i type in username thats fine, then when it asks for password nothing will type on that line then when i hit return i can type dreambox under the ask for password part but then when i hit return it will say that log in details are incorrect yet i know that my log in details are root and dreambox
