forwarding ports to 2 different dm500's

hi,

i have a dreambox setup in my sisters place and i have forwarded port 21 to dreambox so i can update the bouquets for her over the net....

she then closes port 21

my question is she wants to put a second box into the bedroom so how can i forward ports to both boxes to update them??

your sister can turn off the other box then you update.

Just port forward one and then update, telnet into it then ftp to the other and update that.

Or change the FTP port and forward both.

Use PAT

Forward port 21 on the firewall to box 1. So that's sorted

Then forward port 31 to the other box on the firewall and translate it to 21 on her firewall. So the box communicates on 21 and you communicate on port 31 on her firewall and it's translated by her firewall to port 21 for econd box.

Of course you could always look at sftp for the second box instead, on port 22 which would be much simpler. Or even sharing a directory between both boxees so that you upload the files to one place and both boxes have that share mapped.
