        [Sorry,
I thought that card splitting was different from card sharing.

well as this thread has not been closed due to your question i would suggest you get yourself a few dreamboxes and use google to find out how to share your card between them,
personally i would not use those splitters

while i often approve of your posts i believe your way off the mark this time. a card splitter is a fully legal device that splits the card between different receivers using wifi. it DOES NOT CARDSHARE OVER THE INTERNET.

correct me if i'm wrong but the rules state.. no cardsharing talk

              not

talk regarding cardsharing over a WAN is banned but over a LAN is fine..

Cardsharing over a LAN is still an illegal use of a card, that's why broadcasters like Sky have multiroom service..

I've seen numerous threads closed regarding the sharing of a card over a LAN just like I have seen them closed for WAN

The device to split the cards may be legal but the use of them is illegal under the terms and conditions laid down by the broadcaster..

Broadcasters see threads like this on forums and next thing site gone..

It's even in the SmartWi FAQ's..

SmartWi is absolutely a legal device. A few European operators do not allow the use of cardsplitting technology in their user agreements
a quick check of their official forum listed on their website would have found the very same question and an answer from the SmartWi team..

              Dear DM500 user
As Dreambox using unofficial firmware and CAM emulators which do not follow the ISO 7816 norm, we at SmartWi Team are not able to answer this kind of question.

your still missing the point. all cards that can be used with a splitter are done so with the full legal backing of the providers, this is why you can not do it with a sky uk card as they wont allow it.

these devices are not supported by the card supplliers, using them is in breach of their contracts and will be treated as fraud

just because it is internal and not over the net it doesnt mean its not cardsharing

No I'm not.. You are.. Read the rules.. Splitting is sharing under a different title.. It breaks Tring's T&C's and the rules of this site
