Could someone advise me how to stop my dreambox 500 stop searching for a new IP adress on my DCC, I used to know but cannot remember what I used to do,I have just had to take it back to factory settings and start again

You do it on the box not dcc:
use static ip address, switch off the dhcp and set it ot ip address:menu-expert setup-communications
