Dreambox 500 s and satelite dish

    Hi,
Please can somebody help me with the problem watching channels on 0.8W. Some channels i have 85% signal and few of them i would like to watch only 77-78%. Whatever i do i am unable to get more than 78%. Dish is 1M.
    Thanks

that dose not sound to bad for a dm500s as they dont have the best tunners in the world. You could try changing your your lnb to one with lower noise, a better grade coax make sure all connection are good and rust free,And get the dish checked for alignment with a good quality meter but as i said them signal are not to bad for a sat that is not aimed its footprint at the uk

Many thanks, do you think DM600 or 800 would pick up stronger signal

as an avid dreambox fan i ve got to admit dreambox tunners are not the best through out the range i have a dm8000 and my old technomate 1500 had a better tunner in my opinion. If the signal is a real problem, then try looking at the linux technomate range and also dont forget that some transponders are stronger than others that will explain different signal strengths

where do you live.. you may need a bigger dish, or your dish may need a tweak, your LNB maybe on its way out..

with a genuine DM500, 1m dish and a 0.2LNB in North West London I'm getting SNR 94 and AGC 90 on BBC World News 1W

Sounds like the dish may be out of alignment. I would start there before spending money.

as already mentioned 0.8 is a bugger to find i'm in the midlands with an 80cm dish and a dm500 and can pick it up ok , i changed my lnb for a better one and got four more signal bars on my satellite meter when aligning
