EPG For Dreambox 500

Is it possible to get some sort of EPG for a Dreambox 500. I don't want to mount a folder on my PC. Is there any easy way to do it without mapping channels etc or is there an image I can flash with all this pre-done?!?!

Something similar to what you can get on the 800/8000 etc.

I know the 500 doesn't have much space memory wise but all I want it for is 2 or 3 days instead of a full week. I've done some googling but haven't came up with a whole lot so thought I'd give it a go asking here.

My question was is it possible without having to map channels. I found that by making a forum search but it wasn't what I wanted. Is there an image around that makes this easier?

not that i know of. your option is Pli image and you can get a 3 day EPG saved to your temp folder. you have to map the channels, yes this is a pain but only needs to be done once.

Automatically? Also what happens if a channels changes frequency. Would that not mean it would lose its mapping?

Yes there is.
The channel mapping is stored in the channels.dat file in var/tuxbox/dbepg.
Just ftp that to each box and it should be good.

You have to remap it.

mate if you want i have a pli jade 3 image here that ive got epg on it, channels mapped and a list of bouquets for sky uk. saves you mapping and can be flashed to all your 500s. let me know if you want it.
