Hi guys,
Just after some thoughts on some things I could try and how to fault find.
A while ago our technomate downstairs stopped being able to move the dish. We assumed a fault with the cable, as we had recently moved some cables about. I could however turn the dish by plugging the technomate upstairs on a short bit of cable that I had.
I tried plugging in my dreambox with the same bit of short cable last night. It wouldn't move the dish automatically or manually via the motor setup.
I've checked the dreambox and it definetely seems genuine. The controller looks like the genuine version, the receiver seems of very good quality, only came with EU plug, etc, etc.
I had also flashed it to Gemini 4.7. Seemed to flash ok, and picking up all channels on Hellas Sat (which it's currently pointing at).
Is it worth reflashing? Is there anything I can do to rule out the motor. For example if the motor works from the technomate on the short cable does that mean without doubt the motor hasn't got a fault? i.e. drawing too much current.
