make sure you get one of the latest v8 clones (518S)

The early clones had trouble moving motors

whats the diff between the 500s and 518s and is it just as simple to setup just by connecting the dish cable to the box or is there more to it

the DM518s has a internal psu and if you know about clone 500s you will know that the psu are like cheese.

it would be easier to replace a psu on a DM500 as its external

id stick to a new dm500 with external power switch.

early 500 clones has pi$$ poor tuners, dodgy PSU's and wouldn't accept Goto X setup.. The 518 has a superior tuner, PSU and will run Goto X..

Also if the box needs restarting it has an on/off switch on the back, which if you know about electronics, is better then pulling the mains
