how hard is it to set up a dreambox?
how would i get a lock i have good signal and still nothing

borrow a box that you know is set up for the satellite you are aiming at. plug it into your dish. then you know if your dish is out or if its a box problem

my light is is always on its red and cant power off when i press power button on remote is this normal

mate, i reckon you would be better off putting your all your questions into one thread. light being always red doesnt sound right. try unplugging it and powering up then. you should have a green light to get a picture

If your box is flashed properly, you should be able to go into settings-choose the sat your looking for, go to satfinder in settings, adjust your dish and you will see your signal indicator move up or down in satfinder, I put a portable tv in the window to set mine up.Once you get a strong signal, you should get a lock But if you've a red light constantly, you may need to reflash.

yes it will show that without coax connected, you wont get anything until you connect. setup and report back

ok everything is working now i pointed my dish to 97W and adjusted the LNB skew and now have channels.
Now i have a question as to if i can put files on my DM500s without using FTP as I have no network. Is there such a program that exists or is it possible to do it through linux

are you just going to be using it for free to air channels? you need a network for anything else

i want to load key files theres has to be a way to load files other than ftp, but then you need a network for the files to work right
