strange tuning problem dm800 clone

Are you sure you're scanning the correct satellite?

not claiming to an expert by any means as I only got my box working the Sunday just gone but I found that it was possible to for example sat find on Astra and scan on 19.2e which is what the box came setup for.

I honestly don't remember what I did in the end but after a lot of playing around I eventually got it to scan 28.2e.

i am scanning astra 2 28.2e

The signal is good as tried both deeds in my sky box and all are very good

i will try a new image and see if that makes a difference

Why not send him an email directing him to this post, if he see's that he's getting bad publicity he might jump on it, and send replacement tuners to ye, worth a shot.

he,s got until friday to sort me out or im going to raise a complaint with PP. he has picked the wrong guy if he thinks he,s ripping me off as ill blacklist him on all the forums im active on which is quite a few. i find it funny that he hasnt replied to my last 2 emails either!! regards mdt

signal locks on fine now in satfinder but picks up no channels during scan

i have added channel listings now with dreamboxedit but have no picture on any channels even though the signal is still at 90%+

I have the pre-installed image on which i belive is gemi 5.1 but on the main screen it says enigma2 loading in the bottom left is this normal? shall i install a new image?

when you press ok on a channel , an info bar pops up on screen , check in this if you getting a signal ,

yes am getting a very strong signal but no info on the channel what so ever and no picture

is the tuner buggered do you think?

point a web browser to your dm800 ip address , see if the channel is viewable from there mate , if so your tuner is functioning to process this
also are you getting any channel info ? like whats on at the moment , if so the tuner is functioning to process this

i ahev taken the tuner out, cleaned it and put back in with a new sat supply and its working

So could be a combination of the tuner being cleaned, may not have been in right in the first place or the new cable from my dish.

I've read of other people having problems where the solution was to take the tuner out and then re-install but you don't want to suggest it as it the equivalent of saying have you tried restarting it in PC terms

I think its a bit more complex than as you say a restart in PC terms, As you have to actually strip the box to bits. But i managed it
