Boot Loader question

Probably a stupid numpty question but does it matter what family version of theboot loader is used?

By this I mean that my DM800HD was advertised with boot loader 76 but I've seen images with 76C and 76D so could I use those images or do I really need to establish what version of the boot loader I have and stick with that?

you install the boot loader that goes with the image a lot of images have the boot loader incorporated in it will also depend what Sim card you have what boot loader you can use if you have a new Sim 2.01 then you can use any of the latest images 76d

Thanks for the prompt reponse.

I've currently got Bootloader 76, Gemini 5.1 and SIM Version 2.01

So I essentially have to check the bootloader and sim version numbers to make sure they match, is that correct? Don't want to goose the box up as I don't have a null modem cable handy and I'm still learning

EDIT: What is the feeling for the best image to use, I want to be able to PVR when I get round to installing a HDD in the unit as I've read that some images don't support the internal HDD?

you can use any image for 76d boot loader if your box is working fine and your happy leave it alone
