LNB Help

Hey all,

Right, so I've done the hard part. The Dreambox is set up, CS is go, dish is up. I've connected the LNB to the DM800 IN port on the tuner.

Now this is going to seem silly, but I want to know if the LNB is actually working before I get a mate over to tell me how the signal while I wave the dish around. I pointed it in the general direction of Astra 28.2E and satfinder is giving 0 SNR etc... Not reading anything. Shouldn't it be showing a slight reading even before I have aligned it?

I think I've done the F connectors OK... Can I test the LNB end with a multimeter to check if it is receiving a current/voltage?

You will not be able to pickup anything untill your dish is properly setup. Waving it around is not the best way to get signal. Its not like a Terrestrial aireal ,you will not get better or worse signal. You have to have it precisely right.
