    Split Recordings on DM800?

I've got my Fat32 drive installed on my DM800 and it's working however, since the filesize limit on Fat32 drives is 4gb, is there like a option to split recordings? So that it records in four parts? Currently, i just get a message saying Disk Full and the recording stops

Did you not initialise the disk after installing, thought it would format the drive to use ext2 which I think doesn't have the fat32 limit.

No, i can record however, there is a file limit of Fat32 drives which means that recording will stop once the recording goes over 4gb. i read somehwere that it's possibe for recordings to split automatically

No the img will split the files up automatically for you.

Go set a recording for 2 hours on a HD channel and it will record for that whole period of time.

But if you say goto a film amd press red to record it will come up saying the error you described above.

This is what happens to me. So when I want to record I set a time limit and channel.

            Try it and see.

You will see multiple files but will play back as one single recording.

              Hi!
Did you guys find the addon/plugin for recordings to split automatically in a fat32 partition?
I have 1 tb recording on my disk and I'm not willing to format it to ext2.

Why not? I suppose if it's an external disk then you can unplug it and plug it into a PC/laptop and access the files but I've never personally found a need to do this as if I really want a film or tv program then there's bound be better quality versions out there which I'll get and bung on my media server PC.

Because I have no place to put 1 tb data, but even if I had it would have taken days to do it.

A simple addon that splits recording/timer would have been the easiest way.

OK, now I understand. I've had a look on the OpenPLi forums but this definitely isn't a feature. The general answer seems to be to do timed recordings of say an hour so that the recording ends up in chunks.
