    Going to update my DM800 image... recommendations?

    I've had my current image (Dream elite) on my genuine DM800 since last march, so a year on (and after having problems getting mgcamd to install) I'm struggling to find anything anywhere that seems new and without lots of bugs being mentioned!

    I also keep seeing mention of sim and bootloader! Is this something I should be concerned with (as mine is a genuine DM800) - or if it is, how do i check that info?

    Any advice / links appreciated.

      be careful mate , you dont want anythin with sim2 or ferrari 76f/76d/76c etc referance in the title , as these are clone images ,google for genuine dm800 images , and double check before loading it

          To find out what bootloader your DM800 is simply do the following
          * Telnet to your box
          * Log in
          * Type ' ipkg list '
          * Look for the line - dreambox-secondstage - 7#-r0 -
          DM800 Pro clone Merlin 3

            Confusing stuff! I've had my DM800 for 2 years and used several images on it. Until yesterday, i'd never even heard sim mentioned!

            Yeasterday I used NewDE-1.0-Final-dm800-e2-OE(1.6)_21-12-2010-15-41.nfi

            This morning, Nemesis2.2-dm800-e2-OE(1.6)_11-03-2011-17-07.nfi

            Both went on fine and not seen any problems at all - except not seeing CCCam or mgcamd as an option even after what I thought was a successful install using ftp and the /tmp folder.

            tried that (using dcc to telnet) but thats not uncluded in the long listing that came back. However, using the usual method I use to update the image (cold boot holding power button) it shows boot loader as: DM800 second stage loader #82 (2011-02-25)

            No idea what that means - or where this "sim" info comes from! Device info on the web firmware screen doesnt display anything!
