Dreambox DM 800 which Image is best

Which image is the best for the DM800 HD with sim 2.01?
I ask because I am running Nabilosat BH 12 with bootloader 76C and I have read that Nabilosat and Dream Elite images are not supported any more.
A problem that I have with my Nabilosat image is that if I manually add plugins it can crash the system which then needs an image reflash. Because of this I cannot add new skins/addons etc. I'm using an origional DM800 image on a clone but I believe this is ok due to bootloader 76C.

I origionally went with nabilosat for the epg and that it supports usb tv tuner but if I cant add any plugins or skins,

    Is there a better image?
Should I be using a clonesafe image even with bl76C?

    Any Advice appreciated.

Check on dreamoem, DreamElite BH Phoenix Edition is a good image with built in EPG, but it's a bit old now, and uses tyhe older drivers. Still very stable and probably the best looking image.

The OpenPli images are also very good, with built in Rytec EPG, make sure you use patched version of the images with the correct bootloaders.

I am currently using New Dream Elite 1.0HD PrzEdition Sim2-76D, (DM800 clone image with bootloader added), and must say it is the best and most stable image I have come across to date.

I have tried quite a few in flash and also using BA but the fun is in finding which image suits your needs.

I flashed the box with an image an all was well for a day or two. Then last night signal kept freezing saying "Tuner failed check config" or similar. After that it starteded to say "No transponders found" then it shutdown. I noticed it was very hot so I left it for a while too cool down. After I restarted I got the same freezing with the message about no transponder and then it shoutdown for good.
It will not bootup at all now seems like its not getting power although power led is on, on the power supply. Is the motherboard gone?
When I connect to Dreamup with a serial it connects but waits for Dreambox to power on which it doesn't.

Has this happend to anybody else before?
Is there anything I can do?

I wont name the image as I do not think that was at fault. It may have been due to an addon.

Sounds like your fan has gone, check to see if its working. My Clone DM800 which is the same as yours has a Open PLI image which i've just flashed, will see how it's gonna run

naming the image and add-on may help others to identify what the problem is in order to help you or be helped in the future.

I've taken the mainboard out of the box and it seems the power connector is slightly melted. Also underneath the power connector on the board looks slightly discoloured/darkened where the power is connected on the board. So I assume it was a hardware issue.

Howcome DM800's are for sale everywhere on the net yet mainboards are virtually impossible to find?

Although I've just given it a go by inserting the power cable and I got a light for a milisecond on one of the Ethernet LEDs.
