    inadvertantly deletected etc file

My DM800 clone box no loger completes its boot up after I accidently deleted its "etc" file (I will not do that again in a hurry). I bought a usb null modem cable and a gender changer and have tried using dreamup (V1.3.3.7 i think) to reflash the box. Dreamup does not recognise when I switch the power on to the box as it requests, so I can not get any further. I thought that dreambox enforcer might help but the D-kaos site will not let me download anything yet. Hopefully after this post it will. Any help appreciated, does anyone know whether the DM800 can be recovered /flashed using a memory stick and if so where can I get the info to put on a stick.

Freck, thanks for reply, when I first plugged the cable into my laptop, the laptop automatically installed a driver from the internet and says that device is working properly. I tried to install driver from disk but message tells me that the best driver is allready installed.

Try the patched version of dreamup. I had to use that on my mates box.

The usb null modem cable is has a male serial connector as does my box so I have to use the gender changer to phyically connect with box. Would this cause a problem.

I did try changing the port in Dreamup but no luck.
