do this method when flashing by browser no c/a error

prior to attempting the browser and bootloader flash please make sure you have both the image and bootloader ssl you require both unpacked ! this method stops the ca error and is a safe method, particularly useful is you dont have a serial to usb cable.

disconnect power plug rear of dreambox 800

hold the silver standby button front of dreambox

CONTINUE TO HOLD STANDBY BUTTON and replug the power cable to rear of dreambox

you will see stop appear on lcd, once you see stop release standby button

now type in ip address of your dreambox into your internet browser firefox 4 doesnt work but previous versions do, you do not need to type http just type the numbers and dots i.e 192.168.1.32 press enter

you will now see a broadcom chip, scroll down to bottom of page and click on firmware upgrade

you will now press choose and open the .nfi file (the unpacked image file)

now press flash, you may have to wait a minute or two before anything happens, then you will see 0-100% at the top of the screen once the upgrade reaches 100% DO NOT REBOOT! press back button and choose the bootloader assiociated with the image i.e ssl76d.nfi and open and press flash and wait for 100% then reboot

hope this help and prevents the "c/a error" on lcd

        hibbydave,

the thread is to stop the c/a error ever happening by following the instructions you will not get it.

so there no need for dream up & enforcer.

use as a safe guard for newbie's who wish to experiment with new images.

so you send links to flashing by browser?

So your method is not flashing by browser?

Dave... They are both suggesting the same method, via browser.
The difference is Trent is emphasizing the importance of choosing the correct image for your clone box regards sim, then make sure that the image you use has the correct bootloader before you reboot the box.
If it does not then open a second browser load the correct bootloader, then it is safe to reboot the box.
IMO if I was unsure about flashing my clone box, I would rather bump into Trents post.

whilst i see the op has made an effort to help those less knowledgable , the mEthod described is nothin new , i and many others been using this method for 18month.
maybe what would have helped more is

PLEASE MAKE SURE THE IMAGE YOU FLASH IS SUPPORTED BY YOUR SIM TYPE !
ssl dont matter , what does matter is sim TYPE>IMAGE TYPE

Think it would make more sense having a sticky with do's and dont's as the same topics keep coming up 24/7 and No Ca Found being a common one.
At the top should be the Rules and No C/S talk allowed.
