Rewinding live TV

Can rewinding live TV be done?

I am running Dream Elite Blackhole Pheonix Edition image and have a 320GB Samsung Spinpoint HD.

I can record and pause live TV but I cannot rewind. Is there a plugin/addon that will allow me to do this?

Have you installed the timeshift add on?

working away from home so not got it infront of me been trying to phone the mrs to get her to try that out.

Not downloaded the timeshift plugin but can pause. were can i download the timeshift plugin?

Through your add on menu in the blue panel probably?

However I highly recommend installing mfaraj57's TSpanel it will have all you need plus much more and he supports it very well.

If you want the timeshift plugin as a standalone ipk for manual installation, just shout.

cheers satsmo will give they options a try when i get home im back up the road tomorrow night but will leave it to Sunday cause if a go in tomorrow and start playing about way that the mrs aint going to be happy and got a wedding on sat.

i was sure i heard it could be done before. hardly use my internal hard drive for recordings so i might as well put it to use

It will annoy the hell out of you when she finds out how to put it to use

One bad thing about permanent timeshift is you will lose the red button record option, you can still record of course. But play around with the timeshift option settings and see how it works out for you.

no need to install anything as live tv pause rewind works
by default

im using same image
red button also works as normal for recording

satsmo very true when we had sky it was always 'you just missed that' . told her in a few months im going to be buying a original dreambox 8000 or the vu+ ultimo so she wasnt to impressed .

davvo how do you rewind live tv i can pause and record but no idea on how to rewind. tried simply just pressing rewind and got the mrs to try the button to the left of the ok button earlier and that took her on to the bouquets.

go to a channel say bbc1
press the yellow button on the remote
the picture will now freeze/pause with a timer counting top left of screen

leave for a few mins

when ready to watch again press ok on remote

then let it run for a few mins so you got something to rewind
you cant rewind if theres nothing to rewind

then press the left button and it will rewind
the right button to fast forward


when you find the part you want to watch press ok on remote

to exit out of live tv press the black button under the red button

it will then ask you if you want to exit click yes

you are now back to normal tv

aww i meant like if you had been watching a channel and for instance you missed what someone had said or something then rewinding.

I know you can do it if you have paused the channel.

Will try some plugin options and see if that provides a solution.

Basically would need something that would go in to timeshift the soon as you go on to a channel temporary recording in the background allowing you to rewind.

Maybe its not possible if not its not a big deal would just be a added bonus.

there is one called Permanent Timeshift plugin
google it

i read that its buggy

you still have to push buttons to get it in and out of Timeshift

not tried myself as i dont need it

not even sure it will do what you want

only way is for you to find it via google
and try it

If its buggy it will be off right away as I said its not a big deal having it just the odd time I think 'ooh that would be handy the now'.
