this box has been flashed with a original image on it.but
in the box tuner set up menu gives this info for the tuner
tuner A alps bsbe2 dvb-s2, the question is
do genuine dreamboxes have a alps tuners?
or is it a clone with a genuine sim card fitted
i have read posts that some have put a genuine
dm sim in a clone then used images for original boxes.

Patched bootlaoders with cloned SIMS means you can use some older original images directly witthout patching them.
How do you know the box has an original SIM card ? I dont think you can easily source a original Dream SIM.

Just take the lid off and check, remove the tuner, on the back it will be labelled. Also check for SIM2.01 gold stickers on the underside of the box.

Also when the box is switched on, what it does the bootlaoder report as on the front display ?

the box has got a original sim i have checked it and the box
is flashed with the edg nemesis original image the box works but it
wont work correctly with my v-box and i have a dm500hd with the
same tuner settings that works first class so i know the set up is ok
and the box menu settings are ok that was why i thought it was a tuner problem and why i asked if genuine models have alps tuners my 500 does.nt
it has this tuner BCM4505 DVB-S2 there are no stickers on the box or the
tuner except one on top with this INFO BSBE2-401A DVB-S2 8027116
made in japan, also the oled works as it should with chn name time ip addy etc, i wonder if it is original and this tuner is fitted if on original models. is
the tuner faulty
