Newbie to DM800HD , any help would really be appreciated

I have been using an openbox s9 for the past few months and have now ordered another box , this time its a clone dm800hd .

According to the seller my box comes with Gemini 5.0 , sim 2.01 , bootloader 76 and the tuner m

I have read the set up guide so im pretty clear on initial set up but what im looking at is may be updating the image

Could anyone give me some views on different images that would be usuable on my box

The box will be used with a fixed sly dish 28.2

Does this box support mgcamd or newcamd ? Or is it just cccam ?

reciever supports mgcamd, newcamd, cccam, oscam, scam etc etc..pretty much any softcam you'll ever need, there is no better supported linux recievers than Dreamboxes.

Gemini no longer support softcams directly so gemini download server wont let you download and install softcams.

You can use TSpanel though to download any softcams. Check on DreamOEM for all the latest patched SIM2.01 images.

Do you have an image that you prefer that is suitable for clones ?

Also my bootloader is 76 do I have to keep to an image with bootloader 76 or can I update this ?

You can upgrade bootlaoderm latest version for SIM2.01 is 82. I personally use a April version of Patched OpenPLI by MFaraj because it has good 7 day EPG with Rytec.
DreamElite BH Phoenix Edition is also very good. Image choice is a personal thing, depends on which ones suit the features and look/feel yuo want...theres laods to choose from. EDG Nemesis, DreamElite, NewNigma, GP3, OpenPLI, oozooob, PeterPan, Power of Dream, Domica etc etc..
