how do setup usb on dm800 gemini

lm not going to use a harddrive just want to mount and record to a usb stick

Use Device manager in BP and format pendrive .

did that m8 no problem . its shows its there but in the recording route is only shows hhd not media / hhd so cant change that ?

when you try mount the pen drive look for media/usb press left or right on you remote. save the mountpoints and u should be sorted

hit the blue button twice mate then go on device manager and set the mountpoints red button, then go left or right on ur remote till you see media/usb,

im only talking from experience from the dreamelite image however the fundamentals should be the same

ok got it to work now , could only set timeshift but looks like the rest r ok on hhd/movie ? anyway its recording

but need a good epg now . anyone know if the gemini have a good one ?

that just takes me to file manager , l have looked in the add on and plug ins and thats not there ..

For Gemini users with version 5 or higher (OE1.6 VERSION) :
Copy the xmltv-importer plugin to the directory /tmp
Open a Telnet session to your dreambox, use therefor DCC or Putty or a DOSbox.
In this Telnet session type the following commands :
# cd /tmp [enter]
# ipkg install python-compression* [enter]
# ipkg install enigm* --nodeps [enter]
# mkdir /etc/epgimport [enter]

Now copy the rytec.sources.xml with FTP to the directory /etc/epgimport
You have to configure Gemini 5.0 so it is able to read the EPG files (use the remote control):

After these settings have been made press the green button and restart Enigma.
Now see if you can add providerlists for the import.

Known Issue***8217;s :

There are incompatibility problems if you use Gemini 4.5 or higher, keep this in mind !! Reason : Gemini is implementing epg.dat functions.

It can also happen that automatic EPG Import will not function properly after installation, although manual EPG Import works fine,the workaround is to open a telnet session to the dreambox.
Then after login with root, type behind # init 4 this will stop enigma2.
Now change in xmltv.dat the time to import 5 minutes later and change the value random to 0 (you can do this with DCC for example).
In the telnet window type # enigma2.sh
Wait untill import starts and after this is completed and change back the importtime to 4:45 and the random value to 1.
After this you choose restart enigma via menu.
Now wait untill prompt is coming back in telnet session and type behind # init 3
This will start enigma again. (now you have to wait another day to see if the automatic import works)
