which dm800 model have i bought - newbdvb?

hi, i just bought a dreambox 800 hd box from ebay for ?130. which model have i bought, there was very little description.

heres a response from the seller.

Hi It does come fully boxed as new I will include a dvi to hdmi lead. box is badged under the name newbdvb but can be changed for a dreambox badge if requred id not stock the badges you would have to get one off ebay box is in A1 condition the color is black remote is black. as you have bought this item it will be dispaced tommorrow

i think it may be a cable box.
looking on net it just looks like a dm800 clone, but there are cable and sat boxes. you will have to check the tuner when you get it. numbers on the tuner will give you an idea of what yo have. also you need to know what sim it has in, so you know what images to flash

Box has on the underneith has the normal sticker with mac on it a sticker with dm800pro and a sim2.01 sticker box was made 2/2011 tuner type M 801a i have had a few of these and they work very well with no glitcing on discovery hd uk or any others

i asked for a pic, send several email, so far he has not sent one, bit reluctant, i just sent an email to ask him why it has newbdvb badge instead of dreambox, await reply anxiously.

I am not sure myself but there are no visual diffrences at all and as i say i have had a few and they have all been A1 and the oled screen is not set to far back so you can see the oled from a distance

the boxs should be just like the dm800 pro just the badge is different because of copy right i wudnt worry m8

just because it dosen't have dreambox on it dont mean it won't do the same job.

after all it's a clone you are buying and not an original.

as long as it has all the things that the guy is saying, m tuner etc and it's a pr.....then it sounds all good.

you are looking at paying ?150 on ones with dreambox on it.

best advice i check the guys feedback and returns policy.

i bought it mate, i just dont want to get stung later on, i told him to send the box, cant be bothered, if it dont work i can send it back as the products not described correctly.

but for ?130 i cant go wrong for a new box, cant find it cheaper elsewhere.

OEM (pronounced as separate letters) is short for original equipment manufacturer, which is a misleading term for a company that has a special relationship with computer producers. OEMs are manufacturers who resell another company's product under their own name and branding.

These are clones of clones
My only complaint is hes advertising as a Dreambox when he should be saying its a newbdvb which does the same as a Dreambox but im being picky.
Not all clones come from the same factory so you take your chance.
Looks like its the better tuner with the Rev M 801A so wait till you get it and stop worrying.
If you decide to flash a new image make sure its a sim2 image or you will get the dreaded No Ca Found problem.

Ps,if it is the cable box its no good for satellite unless you spend 40 quid on a new tuner.
I have seen this boxes advertised elsewhere and both were for cable and satellite so make sure its the sat box.

If its a cable box just relist it on ebay im sure you will sell on! But sounds like as has been said a dm800 just badged different
