    Telnet password!!!!

    i have a dreambox 800 se and i'm trying to change the default password. but when i telnet it just goes straight into the bios(does not ask for user & password)...and i cant see an option in the bios to change the password..
    anybody know what i can do to change my password plz?

    You can download a few password reset tools, check the add ons from the dreambox menu. Best option probably

    Or you could reflash the box via web access or you can reflash via null cable.

      ok, i have the password just tryiing to change the default pass.. i'm trying dreambox control cente using the telnet tab with the command passwd and this is what i get:

      root@dm800se: passwd
      passwd: no record of root in /etc/shadow, using /etc/passwd
      changing password for root
      new password:
      retype password:

      p.s when i hit passwd (return) , it goes straight to retype password!! (and i typed nothing)

        when you retype the password, it dosen't show. but once you hit return, it will change the password.
        type password hit return
        retype password hit return.
        password is changed.

          i know that bud....it does not let me type a password and goes straight to re-type password!!!

            I had the same problem as above and could not overcome it but....Check this thread.and followDavvo instructions....worked a treat.
