fan options DM800HD

I used a Antec fan from a media pc i built, cant hear this even when put ear next to it, and when i feel top vent, or where tuner is its just cold , even got a hard drive now installed, only problem it dont stop spinning even when in standby, as it dont make noise i dont care, sorry about picture, i need to clean, hate black surfaces attract so much dust.

lombard, looking good. With a 120mm antec fan, i bet ya your the one responsible for the cold weather lately..., jk.

Taped it up again, with black insulation tape, and i think im just gonna leave em now. Gonna forget the casing plan, as im happy the way its looking and sounding. Covered the fan labels so its all black, and less noticeable.

maybe ya , The 120mm size is perfect, does the job perfect and cools internal hard drive, which dont find much use for it really , need a dual tuner, hoping here the DM800se gets dual tuner

I got a small fan that I put on top of microprocesor and conected it to 5V supply for hard disc so fan is silent and
cools it wery well.

You could buy one of these, cut it in half and attach it to the top of the box with 2 small self tapping screws and wire it to the pins that the small internal fan was plugged into then it will switch off when you put the box in standby, It's silent and keeps the box with a internal hdd very cool

This gold one was already lying around and was painted black to blend in but you can buy black ones they are a couple of quid more

That wont switch off when you put the box in standby
plus Its a hobby your suppose to ~~~~ about with them

Got a couple of these from china for 99p each, have one under the box, blue lights on them look cool .

@ Fergal, I would assume I could do the same as you've done with regards snipping the wire and joining it to the internal connection so it will shut off in standby ?

I should imagine so and as long as your box is not one of the earlier models as the internal fan never turned off in standby in those.

Yes the Dm800 hd comes with an internal fan, but these have failed on some ppl, (not all) which is why ppl are looking for alternatives.

is the dm800hd reliable because at the moment i have a 500s and am not sure if its fake or real the guy that i got it from said it was real but obiously he could be lieing by the way i heard theres clones of almost all dreamboxes can you please pm me and help me out
