Just received DM800HD from China. Next Step?

Hi All,

I just received a DM800 HD from Yao Xin in China.

It is flashed with the latest Gemini Image.

I heard that sometimes the images sent with the boxes bomb after a year. Is this true?

Do I need to flash the box with a different image?

i personally would not trust the gemini images especially if your box could be a clone.
i would re-flash it to be on the safe side,just my personal opinion.

What image would you be your preference then.

flash it with the phoneix edition of blackhole mate. easy to use and to download 7 day epg etc.

its in the downloads section.

flash using the web browser.

personally i use nabilosat blackhole v 0.9 on dreambox 7025+
but try a few until you find one to your taste..

1st thing i tell everybody is check what sim type it is , it`s probably a sim2.01 , therefore can ONLY take images adapted for sim 2.01 , do not try to flash with original or other sim type images as it will display the "no CA error" and will need recovering with null-modem-cable

double check your packaging or unit for a small sticker with referance to sim . or your small lcd on the unit will display the sim teams logo or web address when powering on.

pheonix is probably the most user-friendly noob image , whack that along on with "ts panel" you can grab all your needs from ts panel cams, plugins etc

when you get it sorted grab a plugin for taking backups and take one , then your free to experiment knowing you can roll back.

couple progs you may need , dreamboxedit and dreambox control centre , and look in the sticky section for SGt flip flops latest settings to load into dreamboxedit (this will save you scanning your satellite and group all channels in appropriate catagories/bouquets
