Just received my dreambox. How to setup, I want to test box is working on sly uk

Hi, I just took delivery of my new shiny dreambox 800 HD pro box. I want to test the box to see if its working with sly uk before buying a motorised dish kit from eBay.

1) Are there any software updates I should do, and if so how do I install them?

2) how do I find out what software currently is installed?

One last thing, the box is currently connected to my sly HD cable. The cable is double so I just used one side of the cable.

Flash an image from DreamOEM, under the sim 2.01 section. That's the first part. You then need a valid Sky UK subscription card, or if you want to access their service illegally, you need a CS server. We can't discuss the finer details of the latter method for obvious reasons.

just scan 28.2e sat. get the channels and make sure you can view all the fta channels including hd.

if you can you know the box is working.

if you want to view the sly sub channels you will need a valid card or cs. either way you gona need to get cccam installed unless you just have the basic sly channels in which case you won't.
