My DM800SE also loses time when it's in standby. When running, it picks up the correct time from the transponder. But in standby the clock slows down. After a night on standby I see the clock on the OLED display is about 10 hours behind. When I take it out of standby it updates again to the correct time.

I have tried many many images and they all exhibit the same problem.

Perhaps I should use an NTP daemon to keep it up to date?

So this pesky clock thing has been really bothering me!

I have been running a NTP daemon every 5 mins to force the clock to update. Unfortunately between these 5 minute intervals I am still seeing the clock changing times wildly.

Syslog was showing that the clock was initially out by a few minutes, and then reset by NTP. But a day later it got worse where the box is pushing the time out by a day and a bit. It got progressively worse, whether it was in standby or not. So the box would have the correct time, go out by a day or so, and then a few minutes later was reset by NTP again to the correct time.

I then read on another forum that if you physically unplug the power, wait a minute or so and then plug in again, the clock settles down. Make sure you pull out the power cord, and not just switch it off at the back.

So far so good... it has been behaving itself. Will update the thread again in a day or two...

BTW, whether config.misc.useTransponderTime was set to true or false, it made not difference. And its a DM800se clone.

Have you made sure your settings for the clock are in the correct timezone?

        Regards

Yes, timezone is correctly set to GMT.

Yaay! Finally the clock is behaving itself after a power cycle by yanking the power cord.

Shame it's not a fix for the root cause, but at least its a workable solution.

Mental note to self: After p*ssing about with flashing images and messing with the box, do a proper power cycle and leave it alone!
