***HELP***came home yesterday and my dreambox 800 box wasnt getting any sat channels

im really not much clued up on the sats but i messed about with it anyway as the dish is on a 50 ft roof and im to fat to get up there

so playing about with the box i managed somehow to find a strongish signal 82% then manually scanning frequency 11836 27500 fec auto i got some channels

i found out these channels were 9e however i have tuned them into 28.2 on positioner setup but going into satfinder i set them up as 9e on the predefined transponder, done a manual scan and found 470 services for 9e.... whay heyy

now i dont really know what im doing so its just trial and error

im thinking i should in theory be able to set all my sats up again as i at least know where my dish is pointing at the moment which is 9e

anyone know what i can do from here to get my other sats up and running ?
without going up on the roof or calling in the satman

step by step instructions would be great or a link to a guide please

are you saying your tuner says 28.2e and you actually pointing at 9e?

what are your tuner settings? are you using usals or diseq?

has it been working before you messed about with it?

yeah it was all working the day before, these were all tuned manually (not usals dont know how that works) 28.2e, 19e, 16e, 13e and 1w

i have managed to find 9e by messing around between the satfind option and the positioner setup area getting a agood 82% signal i manually scanned it and got 470 services

can i find the other sats from the dreambox 800 using this 9e as a starting position ??? without going on the roof ???

im not using usals as i dont know how that works, the sats are manually tuned i think

something must have moved the dish probably one of them blasted seagulls theres loads round my way

reception setting are

advanced, 9e, LNB1, Auto, Universal LNB, Polarisation, yes, band, 1.2, none, none, no, no, commited toneburst, none, none, my lat and lon, no to usals and stoed positon of 50

the SATFINDER option looks as if its there to help find sats but the only one ive got locked is 9e on the predefined transponder, it doesnt lock onto any other sats why is that ???
If i move it to 7e for example after a few seconds the SNR singal shoots up to 40 odd and the lock box has a tick in it but it disapears as quick as it came and thats the same when i use satfind to try and get another sat like 13e it shoots up to 85 then disapears as fast as it came like before, whats up with that ???

change your usals to yes and put in your longitude and latitude.

this is by far the easiest way to operate the motorised setup as the motor will know where you are from the long and lat position.

if it dosent pick up the sats from there, you can manually move the dish through positioner setup and then see which way (east or west) you need to move the dish to get to the sat. then accordingly change your long settings. once you have picture.........if you want to change the settings in increments of .2 you can make sure you got the best snr you can.

make sure you save the usalssettings for all the sats you want to view and then do a scan.........or load a channels list.

however, if your elevation is wrong....then this won't help.

yeah managed to find help on another forum pal

what i did was went into reception settings while i was on satellite 9e went all the way to the bottom and made sure that this sat was set to use USALS the ok which i think saves then exits

i then went back in and changed all my sats to use usals and bang there all tuned back in weyyhayy

but as i have a lets say inconsistant l3 tuner it's signal fluctuates losing 10 upto 20% of it's signal

i might need to fine tune especially the 28.2e sat would doing that knock out my other sats ???
