FTA channels

Hi, am using a Dreambox HD800 pvr, running a gemini image with installed cams, which was pre installed, have done a service scan on Asta which picked up 75 services, when it finishes, when i press OK it just goes back to the service screen, should i be seeing the FTA channels? Am a complete newbie, does my box need to be connected to my broadband to view the FTA channels as i've not connected yet as my Pc is upsairs and my box/Tv is downstairs, so i'm looking into the best way of connecting my Pc to my Dreambox so i can start using the cams.

Any help would be great.

you should have the fta channles showing with the correct cam , but instead of scanning why not download a set of pre sorted bouquets to your box ie sgt flipflops which is much easier and time consuming than scanning.

Regarding connecting your box to the internet you will need to move your computer closer to your box or get a long ethernet cable or what i would do is invest in a set of home plugs...... then you can download all the tools for your box at will.

Should be able to see any fta channel without a cam being processed by a server so no pc required to see something on screen, after all once an image is installed its just a fta box

once you have done a scan have a look in the bouchet area and press satellites, you should see your scan result there

Also on the dm800 i have configured in the past a usb wireless dongle.
But have always found an ethernet cable the best and more stable option

But as has been mantioned you should get FTA channels without the net.

Just add bouquets and then favs tab which is mostly the blue button

Thanks to you all for your help, was wondering where the FTA channels were after scanning i found over 1000 services, but when i pressed OK it went back to the scanning screen again, will take your advice and go to satellite screen for my channels, thanks again.
