Rev M Tuner and sim 2.01 genuine dm800hd

Hi guys, I been looking through the posts but am unable to find an answer to my question.

I've recently got hold of a DM800pro Rev M 801A tuner and a 2.01 sim. Can anyone tell me if these can be used in my genuine DM800hd pvr. One of the posts was taking about driver issues but that was on a clone.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

The tuner may work but why would you want to replace a genuine SIM with a clone that needs patched images?

      Thanks for the reply.

I initially tried flashing an image in and got a 'no ca found' message. Tried several images with null modem then managed to flash a Nabilosat but a bootloader 69 came up and I was previously on a b/loader 75. After much reading on the site I was getting the impression that I might have had a clone even though I bought it as a genuine. Spoke to a sat shop and explained and they said its very likely a clone so bought a sim 2.01 and a rev m tuner from him. Have since done the genuine test with the add on and it came back as genuine. Leading to my initial question, as the guy wont answer any emails I send regarding the return of them.
I since found a firmware update on the dream multimedia site and flashed it in giving me b/loader 76, I then put a gemini 5.1 image on. In all honesty I'm still quite a novice to all this stuff .

to check if the first box is genuine is to take a look
at the sim card in the from right corner of the mainboard
just behind the oled screen if it's genuine the sim will be white
and have [dreambox security SIM AP2] in black letters on the sim card.
also on some genuine models the sim is glued in the holder and needs
a solvent to get it out of the card holder. but you should see some letters through the card holder slots, my genuine box main board packed up and i got a clone hd mainboard and added my sim and tuner and i load genuine images plus i now have the added feature of a fitted fan ,genuine 800hd models dont have a fan inside them.

          Thanks for your info benny/9.

Have checked the sim and yes its white with security printed on it and it was glued in. I'll give the tuner a go anyway and see if theres any improvement. If not they'll just have to go on flea bay I guess.

Thats interesting about the fan, are there overheating issues with the dm's?

before giving up on it try using a null modem cable with the loader panel
and official image from the dreammultimedia site for your model to clear the bootloader then the box will boot up and then just load a image of your choice and the box will work as normal again. if your computer does'nt have a 9 pin com port then use a usb to serial convertor to connect the null modem cable to your computer i use this way with a convertor from maplins
the original dm800 did,nt have a fan fitted and mine got warm but i dont use a hard drive fitted in the box so it never got to hot most users use a laptop cooler if there 800 get to warm. this is a link for the differencies between genuine and clone dm800's
