smartcard frequency check and control of a usb fan.

    Hi,

    i own a dreambox 800hd clone.

    1) is there any way to check what speed a smartcard in the internal reader is running at? i know that this can be configured in cccam.cfg but is there any way to check that the settings have been applied.?

    2) is there any software that can control an external usb fan so that it switches off when in standby? i have seen the mods of the scart socket but was hoping not to go down that route?

    thanks for any replies.

    some info here regarding q1********

q2 , no software can control an external fan , the scart mod is the only option for no fan in standby , you can use an old scart cable ,dismantle and use the plug from it and connect your fan leads to the relevent pins

thanks fopr the link. it wasn't the info i was looking for but useful nonetheless.
i was hoping for some telnet code or other asking the dreambox to check the actual frequency the card was running at after applying the line.

i will consider this if i can find a suitable fan to place inside the housing rather than the outside to keep things neat. my laptop cooler has a 20cm fan so might have to find a smaller one!
