Wrong image installed

i installed a wrong image (sim201) on my genuine dreambox 800HD, what to do now ?

can't reach the dreambox with my browser as no ip address is appearing

if it says error1 no ca on the oled then
use dreamup with a null modem cable
and use the last know ip for the box
to clear the bootloader then you can re flash
the correct image

i would still use the dreamup loader to clear the bootloader
and see if that clears your problem as you have a genuine model
use version 1.3.3.7. if it's a clone model you need a patched dreamup version
to get a connection to your receiver [the official dreamup wont work]
1.Download the correct image for your model [genuine or clone]
2.Switch Receiver off and connect your Network cable to your router and the null modem cable to your 9 pin com port if your computer does'nt have a 9 pin com port you also need a [usb to serial convertor] to use the null cable via usb port [ and it does work this way]
3.Then open dreamup, Tick Use Network, Fill the relevant boxes with local pc IP and Romote ip that was the ip you last used for this receiver and click Connect. Program will ask for you to Switch on the receiver.
4 It will then upload and then go into HTTP mode
5 At this stage, you open your browser and insert the remote IP
shown on the 800 oled screen
6 Click Browse and navigate to your image on your computer
7 find the image for your model and click Open on the window
8 then on the browser click the Flash button
9 Image will start to flash and the image will upload and then flash
10 After flashing 100% then click Reboot. In Most case you will need to do this manually
by unplugging the dm800 and 30sec's later plug the power back in

ps : the dreambox is connected to a wireless game adapter with a lan cable, will this be ok to work ?

i dont know about that cable. what you need is a cat5 or cat6
cable and to go from the receiver to the router it must be a crossover cable,

I have DM800HDse ,
boot 82
SIM 2.10
same problem, wrong SW and err01
but when I use
Sunray-Flashup everything go fine till "8 then on the browser click the Flash button"
after that whwn I click on flash nothing happen

please help,

have you tried useing a patched version of dreamup
to clear the bootloader if you need it there is a free
download here, use download to computer when you download it

thanks, but mine DM have no RS232 only 2 usb and service usb
also I have problem with my laptop there also no RS232

maybe have another idea ?

first remember for a clone model use a patched dreamup version
the clone models cant connect with the official dreamup panel
if your dreambox develops a bootloader problem ie:
if after flashing etc you get no ca found on the oled screen on the box
or if it's the new 500hd model with no oled you will see a message
on the tv saying you dreambox might no longer work in red letters
this is how to recover the bootloader anf hopefully get the box to
clear and work as normal again

To Manualy update firmware on a DM 500HD and the dm800se hd models
via mini-usb service port & Lan Network

Items required:
1) A TO B mini-usb male to male [same as a camera USB] & Cat5 Network Cable

2) Universal DreamUP 1.3.3.7 loader panel and the official software
for your model plus if needed the (USB to UART Bridge Virtual COM Port (VCP) driver)
from :-dream-multimedia-tv.de/en/downloads website

Process:

1)Unplug the Dream 500HD/dm800se turning off with the switch on
the rear panel is not enough dont try a short cut it could fail

2)next connect the cable for its part mini-usb port and
"Service" of the Dream 500HD and the USB to a USB port on your PC
and also the Lan Cable from your Router

3)Just plug it in, the PC will detect new hardware connected to the system:

4)The PC will ask the driver for this new component,
Windows 7 will download the driver Automaticly for you
the driver is cp210x usb to uart bridge controller

5)Open the Windows Device Manager,
and you will see the new hardware installed,
will appear as COM port (even a USB cable).
In the following example, is recognized as the cable into the port COM4.

6)next opened the universal DreamUP 1.3.3.7 [this is the latest version]
and select the update COM port (like any other model of Dreambox).
At this point, we choose the COM port that we appeared in the previous step
(COM4 in this example).

7)Press the Connect button the DreamUP universal panel and then go to the
dreambox and power it up to turn on again now the Dream 500HD/800se will
now to start loading new firmware.and once compleated exit the loader panel
and the dreambox will boot up again and then you can re-flash anouther image

everything is ok till this step, but when I try to click flas
doesn't happend
i hope you understand what I mean,
it's mean I can connect DM and laptop

it must be a setting stopping it working mate
it's never failed when iv'e done it. you are
useing the patched dreamup? and you have
the correct computer ip and the last known ip
for the dreambox and a tick in the use network
box, you might have to try other receiver ip's
it could have changed and it usualy goes up a point
and one last thing the computer did load a driver and
recognise the the dreamup.

I'm just waiting for my USB to serial null modem adaptor to try this procedure.

In the quote above you mention the cat5 (network cable) must be a crossover? I thought the null modem cable IS the crossover bit... but the network cable would be normal?

Same problem here, I am using patched dreamup to get this box back from sim201 error but doesnt seem to do anything after uploading flash loader , also confused about this bit about having to have network cable on, i just plugged in my ethernet cable from my homeplug to the broken dreambox will that not work? and what is a crossover cable and what does it look like?
