    800hd clone - not booting

Everything was working fine before I went away 2 weeks ago. I got back today and it won't boot and I get a green screen message and it reboots in a loop with the same message everytime.

Now I can't even connect alftp it says socket error 10054 connection rest by peer.

    What can I do ?

When you turn it off and hold in the power button, do you get a IP and able to goto the web browser to flash?

It says its a software error and has to be restarted in 10 seconds. I'm using enigma 2.

The problem is it won't power down it just trys to start waits for the 10 seconds and does it again. The only way I can switch off is to pull the plug.

          Any more ideas ?

I'm using vonnets to conect wirelessly to the dbox.

I tried dreamup but it says switch on the dbox which is on and doing the loop where ity shows an error resets and does the same again.

Really don't know what I can do as I can't seem to access the box like I could in the past so can't edit the software.

You need to connect with a RS232 null-modem cable to use Dreamup, on boot, it sends it's own loader to the box.

                  There is a guide here - http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...dreamup-42950/

It's for the DM500, but the DM800 is similar. If using the Null-modem only, it can take an Hour to upload the image, so I suggest using network as well as Null-modem.

Anyone help with this as I'd like to try something today. I've got a cable somewhere so if someone can point me to the correct image that maybe the only thing I can try.

did you pull the plug on the box then hold down the power button, and whilst your holding down the power button plug in the power at the box.

Watch for STOP appearing on the front of the LCD.

                        What happens?

Also do this whilst connected to a router.

If I hold the button when powering up I get to stop and the internet address appears but it doesn't boot just stays until I release the button.

Without the router just get a dhcp message and no booting.

                          Does this help ?

I have seen this before on one of my clones, its not a massive problem and can be fixed dead easy.

Forget flashing via web browser, like mentioned above you will need to use Dreamup, might be a idea to the patched version of dreamup.

Connect null modem cable to your rs232 port on your pc and then the other end to your db800.
Have no other wires in the dreambox.

Start Dreamup and press connect it will tell you to turn on the dreambox. This is where you turn the mains on to the dreambox.
You will see Dreamup getting the bootloader from your box once done you will need to select your new image and then select flash.

You need to know what sim card you have in your box and get a image to match this.
DO NOT use a normal DB800 image this will cause CA Error.

Can you please point me to the most updated image - I'd like to use the dreamelite 1.33 at the moment

Will I need to input all my network details and get ccam again when I flash the image ?
