    Tuning DM800

I have a DM800 that has worked without any issues for the past few years in South Africa.

I have now brought it back to the UK and have tried to set it up for single satellite (at 28.2E). However, if I try to set up LNB (as 'simple') and then do a scan, I only find approx 520 services. None of the Sky HD channels, for example, are detected.

Anyone able to advise why this might be?

        Thanks for the feedback.

The LNB was originally set to L: 9750, H: 10700, Threshold: 11700, before I tried 'Simple'. Setting it to H: 10600, Threshold: 11600 results in me finding more 'services', but still not all of them.

I believe this is probably due to the need for slight dish alignment.

          Hi,

Another thing to try is to upate the satellite. xml file as its probably out of date. If you have latest TSpanel it is availabe under system tools as satellite manager.
If you don,t have Tspanel I would definately install it as its one of the most usful plugins.
          Best of luck

Might it be worth updating the unit to latest image version? I am very wary about doing this as I was previously a victim of the dreaded time-bomb when I originally purchased a cloned DM500.

I know this DM800 is also a clone so anyone able to point me to an 'easy-to-follow' guide on how safely update it?

            It's currently using Enigma Version 'HEAD-Nov 7 2009'.

OK, I think the situation has deteriorated dramatically!

I decided to get the dish re-aligned and then applied a factory reset to the box. Unfortunately, I still don't find all the services and I am beginning to think that maybe the tuner is the source of my problem.

Setting the LNB to L: 09750, H: 10600, Threshold: 11600 finds a hand full of services one minute, but if I reboot the box and re-scan (same LNB settings), I might find as many as 700+ the next time, but still not all of them.

What's interesting is that it never appears to find ANYTHING beyond about 45% of the scan, ie. above 12560MHz.

I realise that this might not be a typical forum problem, but has anyone got any ideas.

(To add to my problem, I'm actually still in South Africa and am trying to configure the box remotely via a Virtual Private Network, so I cannot physically get to the box, but do have full Web Interface access.)

As previously suggested why don't you just upload sgt flip flops bouquet and services using dbedit, there is no need to scan then
                  plus set the tuner
                  config mode to simple
                  Mode to single
                  satellite to 28.2e
                  save

                    Willing to try anything...

Please excuse my limited knowledge, but can you perhaps explain? ('upload sgt flip flops bouquet and services using dbedit'?).

I also have genuine DM800 here, so can run through menu here before trying proper, there.

                        OK, problem fixed!

Replaced the tuner and now it scans 1,500+ channels!
