    Dreambox 800 HD (clone)

I think I'm going to get the dreambox 800 but I just want to know a few things: If I get a clone dreambox would I be missing out on some significant thing from the orignal?

Can I install a harddrive that with allow be to record on the clone ?

What is the difference between the dreambox 800hd and the dreambox pro and which should I go for if I'm only connecting it to a sky dish?

Should I order it from China or is there a recommended place in the UK where most would go to buy one of these boxes ?

Are most of you guys that have the DB 800 clone more than happy with what you got ?

    Cheers

i've got a couple and don't think i'm missing out on anything from the original. but then i've never had an original.

but these boxes do everything i want so i'm happy.

you can stick hdd to record etc. you should go for the hd pro as it has better tuner and no glitching on hd channels even after viewing for long time.

but you now have dm800se on the market-----------which is definately the dogs bits. don't think i'll need another box if its a single tuner i'm after.

where to buy?? theres loads of threads here that can help you decide on that.

    good luck.

      1. you wont use the features that an original offers

      2. you can install a hard drive to record the channel you are viewing only and in some rare cases possibly watch and record another channel if its on the transponder id, but 9/10 its record what your watching

      3. the pro has a better tuner, which would be better for hd channels, why not have a looks at se version

4.there are a few uk dealers i personally dont use chinese imports just because of any returns i may have to cary out

      5. i am happy with two dm 800's that i have, one is a pro and one is standard

My only grump is loading as i turn my off most nights but overall you will be very happy with a Dreambox800hd.
The pro version is basically the same with the latest M Rev Tuner 801A.
If you get one make sure the tuner is this one but most that are being sold are this revision.
Buying depends on if you wanna try China and pay a bit less or from a reputable company like Ukdreamshop.

I paided $8 more I can live with that. Just got a reply from someone who is selling the Ferrari version for $235. I don't yet know what that all means Ferrari and stuff, I just went with the person who sold the most with positive feedback, but I might be getting another so if this Ferrari thing is a must have that I may get it from him unless it's something I can do myself.

Ferarri is no biggy mate its just the sim card inside and the other make of sims for then funnily enough are named Sim.

I had a ferarri sim 800 in the past for 2 weeks it got sent back as the receiver didnt include internal fan so heated up badly.

Theres more support for Sim and images.
