DM800 HD (Clone) New User HELP Please

Hi,

I have just changed from a Technomate TM600 to a DM800 HD (Clone). With a Gemini Image.

I don't really need to have it setup "all singing, all dancing", as it is primarily my 10 year old Daughter who will use it, but I am struggling with a couple of things I would like to setup and they are RECORD TO HDD (or STICK) and a working EPG

I have successfully updated the bouquets etc and al the channels are working fine.

My issues are:
1) I don't know how to set up an external USB stick drive. I plugged one in and it recognised it and the DM Initialised it, but I then couldn't record to it because I don't have it all configured correctly.

2) After failing at the above I installed a small 80gb sata 2.5" I had lying around. After installing it, there is no HARDDISK option under the settings / system as per the information I can find on the internet. Yet if I go to the system / record paths it shows as TOSHIBA 80GB but I cannot do anything with it. What am I doing wrong?

3) There are a few EPG options, but none of them seem to display me anything more than "Now & Next". Even when I select Multi EPG.

Do I have a dodgy box (I cannot understand why there is no option for Harddisk in the settings?)

ok. my advice would be for you to change your image to the phoneix edition (available here Digital Kaos - Downloads - sim201-ssl82-dreamelite-PHOENIXedition2..13/05/201)

once this image is installed send acroos your channels list. setup ur tuner.

epg will be by pressing blue button and then red button. you can chhose what epg to have and when to be updated.

you will need to initialise your hdd and mount it for it to work.

def change to this image - will make things a lot easier for you.

THANKS given for the reply - much appreciated.

I have to admit, I am at the end of my tether with this, I really don't want anything fancy. Just an EPG and an HDD to record.

I have wasted my entire day trying to suss this out. I have "kind of" got the hard drive recording (though it isn't showing as hdd its sda?).

But I cannot no matter what I try get an EPG to work, I have searched and searched. I now have CrossEPG installed (but not working) and I can't even see how I uninstall?

I don't really want to install a new image, because I have never done it and don;t want to brick the box, becuase once I have it setup with EPG and Recording then I am happy and won't touch it again.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Have you configured crossepg to download from rytec or other epg provider? And downloaded the data accordingly?

The recording paths have to be set up also and if it is seen as sda you can map it as such.

l know u dont want to change image . but blackhole is the best m8 , most on here use it and it takes a second to flash http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...browser-55296/ its just better software and user friendly

Is it possible to update the image via ethernet?

How can I be sure the image is the correct one for my clone (dm800 hd rev M tuner sim201 #82)

Sent you a good guide by pm,use this image its the best.

see...wasn't that hard to change the image.

now ...like i said in my first post...blue button - red for epg...and away you go. configure it to download once a day and to the hdd. use rytec....that's what most use.

you are done. your daughter is happy....

New DM800 China clone

Hi,
My one came from the factory with "AllRussian" image and it would only boot about 1 in 10 times. I have re flashed it with Nemisis 2.3 and at least it is stable. But the addon servers won't work. I tried to ping the servers from my PC and the ISP is blocking them. Anyone had the same?

Hi,

Well it may have took me a while (12+ hours prior to changing the image, ). But it is now up and running, and recording with a weeks worth of EPG.
