    HD Recordings are very jittery

    Hi,

I have just installed a Western Digital Scorpio Blue (WD6400BEVT) HDD to my DM800HD (Clone) and it copes fine with SD recording but in HDD it tends to jitter excessively. Is it the HDD that isn't fast enough? If so could you recommend one up to the job?

Is there anything I can do to help alleviate the jittering?

    THANKS IN ADVANCE

is it external? If so is it powered by usb or by mains?

Edit: also I have found that 2.5 inch drives are a lot slower.

        Hi,

Thanks for the replies. It is a 2.5 Internal Sata (can I change the cable as I don't think it is a standard sata type is it?)

              Hi.

When you say its an image problem, and you re-flashed. Did you use the same image as I am very happy with the image and don;t want to change it really.

              Thanks

                  Hi.

I have been happy with my box using sim201-ssl82-dreamelite-PHOENIXedition2..13/05/201

With everything except for recording / playback of HD Channel (and even then the FTA HD seems fine).

Watching without recording is fine also.

Is there a way I can get this image to work with the HD recording to internal HDD without jitter in HD? If not what is the recommended image that will leave me with multi EPG and recording working?

                  THANKS IN ADVANCE

I was in exact same position, used phoenix image for ages, but recording wasnt good, thought this couldnt be right

so decided to try new image like OpenPLi 2.1 and works great now, and its got good selection of skins

                    Regards

                      Hi,

Will this come with the EPG plugins, etc already pre installed? (I am not "that" au fait with all of this yet).

                      Thanks for the info
