You need to have AC3 default = yes and AC3 downmix = no.
You'll find these settings in setup then a/v settings

should i have to put the optical output cable also? or just hdmi will do the job?

i run mine through the hdmi to the tv then from optictal to my surround sysytem and it works fine

I just use the HDMI/DVI cable into my amp
