    Network Not Working

Can someone please help with setting up my network on a dm800hd.

I've had it working before but am now using a new router and have put it to static ip.

I always get a red cross for nameserver and sometimes for ip.

Can someone please tell me exactly what setting go where and where do I find them out.

Nameserver should be same as routers ip address,if you have changed makes of router thats your problem.

so the number I put in to get to the router setup page is the number I use for nameserver ?

What do I put in for ip and gateway ?

If you go down the static route and say your router is a belkin.
Router, gateway and nameserver would be 192.168.2.1
Ip of Dreambox would mirror the same ip barring last digit(s)

        Example below
        Router 192.168.2.1
So you could make ip for Dreambox 192.168.2.100 or anything you like from say 1 to 264 but high number is better.
This is the best way with dhcp disabled, stops any ip conflicts.

My router is netgear. Does that mean my nameserver ip should be 192.168.0.1 same for gateway ?

I could then put the ip as 192.168.0.100

Thats fine as long as thats the netgears standard ip address.
192.168.0.100 is fine for Dreambox ip
Try that and do a network test.

              Thats got it, thanks.

Still not perfect picture as I keep getting freezes but that could be because of a weak signal from the vonets i'm using.

                I know thats it is
If its glitching its your server so check the ecms.
If fta is fine its definately that.
                Glad you sorted mate.

FTa is fine but ecm's sometimes over 1000. Last week it was always below 200.

So could it be the vonets, or the line that is the problem or something else ?

                    ping your server

                    start/run
                    type cmd hit enter
                    type
                    ping your-server-ip hit enter
                    and see what the
                    ping response times are

a good remote server in uk will ping between 30 to 50ms

I get the message ping request could not find host your-server-ip

When I check on speedtest I get speeds of 40 for ping and 10mbs for speed.

I get pings of 26 when pinging google.

Could it be the vonets being the problem ? I don't think its my line.

                        Any ideas ?

Wouldnt have thought its the vonets cant you try a long length of ethernet but more likely to be your server mate.
