    VU-duo or Clone Dreambox 8000I

I'm want to get another sat box but this time with twin tunner. I currently have the Dreambox 800 which is fantasic, but having to see all the other channels greyed out whilst I'm recording another channel does take its toll once you became familiar with the box. I can get the Dreambox 8000 for around $564 - ?358, is that a good price and is this the box to go for, or is there no really any difference between the 2, if so I think it would have to be the 8000 as I read it has more support.

plenty of support for the VU mate , we have our own section here VU+ Duo & Solo

the price for the 8000 will be a clone , not many members have these on this forum, its a lot of cash on a clone , you can buy an original twin tuner box for less (vu duo) at ?330

i personally would choose the vu , and it will come with a uk guarantee that wont need posting back to china for any issues

Ok I really don't mind which one but Southpaw raises a good point about any issues with the box and being able to return the item. So if anyone has had the pleasure of owning both boxes or have come into contact with the vu+duo is the only real major significant difference the twin tuner from the Dreambox clone 800se which is what im currently using? Also I'm assuming that the Dreambox 8000 works in the same way as the 800se when it comes to addons and stuff. To the vu+duo users does this box have the same sort of range of addons?

Timeshift > picons > are what I currently use on the 800se.

        Cheers

both boxes are enigma2 , so pretty much run the same plugins/addons etc ,
for feedback post a thread in vu section , a lot of the lads in there are ex dm800 users so will give some honest reliable advice

you can have upto 4 tuners in the 8000. the clone 8000 only come wth ferrari sim. ?358 is a brilliant price considering.

You can from the uk for around ?375 and return to buyer if probs occur.

i know someone who has had his for 2 yrs plus and has 4 tuners in it. it is a bit of a beast.

I've not needed the twin tuer option as i just bought 2 boxes instead.

if you thinking about twin tuner and original box...then the xtrend (also known as clarke tech ) ET9000 would probably be better as it has pip and a loopthrough option.

i think you can fit a dvd player into the 8000 as well, from what i have read from people who have them they would not change it and they are all clones, the clone manufactures seem to have sorted out the issues with the early 800's and represent a good valve for money box, i have just read a company is taking pre orders for the new dm 7020hd at about ?569 not clones which is a cheaper version of the 8000. see the 8000 ferrari sim for ?370

i dont know where you heard the DM8000 has more support than a Vu but you are drastically wrong.

the Vu has a massive support base and many many teams writing images and plugins for them. personally i'd say go for a duo over the dm8000 clone.

evry1 has their opinions and if its just the twin tuner and nothing else...for the sake of ?50 (against the dm8000 clone) you could get the vu duo or et9000....but............depends what you want

most definately more support for duo and co as not many people have the dm8000.

but if your box does what you want it to do....then what other support you need???

i would go for the dm8000
