I have repaired two boxes with the same symptoms by doing above. Maybe try doing it from another pc/laptop.

Did you select repair bad sectors? And if so what was shown on the OLED?
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer. - Douglas Adams

have tried a laptop with windows7 and a different laptop with xp.

when doing connect nothing happens to oled, in dreamup nothing shows to indicate thats its connected to dm800se.

yes done it without bad sector repair then tried with sector repair.

after the procedure the oled still say 2nd failure after i switch it on.

on plugging the ethernet cable in the light on my router does not come on to say a cable is plugged in and powered up even when dm is powered on.

OK strange problem if it cannot even take a bootloader flash and no connection to router also?

Did you check the tuner as pento123 said on post two? I would also look at trying another PSU ( a DM500 will do if you have one), but check the tuner first.
