To be honest mate think it is just the same as the other SE's only difference being the colour and extra USB port. Will still function as well as the rest

i got the black branded dm800se with a front usb, just another usb to use really, think the 2 at the back are more then enough and out of the way as well,

Read elsewhere that these newer models also have a little button at the back for something like emergency flashing/rescue?

Yes they do and come in very handy for flashing,i could not get the other usb ports on the box to work for flashing purposes,but i had a spare camera usb lead with the right connections and have flashed 6 different images using this very handy connection point.

your right bud,
i have a small little 'mini flashup' button on mine.

its odd for me cause mine is a rev 6,
i got mini flash up button at the back,
but no usb port at the front
