where to buy a sim 201

have had problems with my box, had a no ca found error,
after a lot of messing, determined that my sim 201 (alledgeedly) was shot, would only load bl69 images, even though i had been using a bl75 image for over a year
managed to get hold of another sim, of someone who has upgraded, this also says 201, but it will only load uo to a bl72, which i am running on now,
so the questions i have, would i be able to use a 210 sim or would i be better getting a 201 sim,
and where is best to buy one??

if you got no ca error....you should be able to sort out the box using dreamup and you can flash a newer image with bootloader patched into it.

you won't need to change sim mate.

there's plenty of images for sim 201 in downloads.

there are also good tuts on how to sort out no ca error....just search for it.

your sim is ok its error with image,

if your sim was dead you will get dreammultimedis ERROR on screen

this has been an ongoing problem.
i used to have a bl75 image, then one day after booting up my dm i got a error no ca found. after a lot of reading, flashing, ect ect,only image i could load was an old bl69 image, it would not accept any image higher than a 69, even tried 2nd stage bootloaders for higher images, but still kept getting same error message.
another member on here kindly give me his sim, as he had upgraded to a ferrari sim.
now the sim he give me states its a 201 ( just like mine one did), with my given sim, i have now managed to upgrade to a bl72 image.
again this sim will not accept anything higher than a bl72, thats why he got a ferrari sim.
i did buy a ferrari sim thinking it would solve my problem, but every time, i went through the process of loading a new image first then change the sim, i now got a new message, DREAM MULIMEDIA ERROR.
ive tried lots of diffrent combanations of flashing, but still get the same message.
so at present im back to using the bl 72 image, but i want to upgrade, im hoping that if i buy a sim 201 or 21 that it might solve my problem.
if anybody has a spare one that i could try, and if it works i could buy of them would be great, if not point me out in the right direction.
i bought my dm about 18 months ago, from a uk supplier, not giving out names, but i wont be using him again, as his after sales service was awful.

did you try that new tool somebody wrote recently , think it was a member called yassinov , although i could be wrong

some kind of bootloader assessor/upgrader software , sorry mate not much help i know , just throwing ideas about

yeah, tried that as well, not a bad tool to have and use, presume it works on the same kind off principal as dream up!!
but no that didnt work either.
im lost with it al the mo.
i have 2 sims both with gold sticker saying 201, even my box has sticker saying 201, one sim wont load higher than a bl69 and the other wont go higher than a bl72???
even with all the 2nd stage bootloader files used when flashing, with half dozen diffrent images
if someone wants to try my sim 201, by all means i will send in the post, just drop me a pm.

if all else fails, will someone recomened a uk buyer i can get a sim off!!!

I thought Sim2.10 team was the preferred choice, much more support than Team Ferrari?

ukdreamshop sell both sim 2.01 and sim 2.10,

But if you have 2 sim 2.01 already they both cant be naff, are you recovering with patched dreamup and flashing via web browser... flash a image from here Sunray Sunshine SIM2 Free Images Download (Free for SIM2.01/SIM2.10)

bubbles 69, if you mean this patch up

then yes i have tried it.
the flash button has never been a problem, in other words it has never been greyed out.
unless there is another patched up d/u that i dont know about.
sims arnt goosed, just dont accept higher than a bl72, when i thought 2.01 would be able to go higher.

you must use network cable to router, and use patched dreampup to put in web flash mode ip will display on lcd then tao that in your web browser and flash, dreamboxuk new image 2.1 was released last night flash that

just a liitle thing ye could look at with ye changing sims a lot,open the box and boot it without cover on pushing down on sim to make sure its making full contact with the board,these mounts sometimes come lose,had to fix me m8s and glue the edges of the mount with superglue,worked fine after that,worth a try

have done that, tried flahing with dream up, using web browser, have tried yasinov image uploader. just cant understand why it wont allow higher bl's on 2 diffrent sims.

i know what you mean, the whole restraining area is a little flimsy, but its still loading the image, might give it another evening trying to sort it.

if there sim 2.01 they will allow upto ssl84

you def doing something wrong,

1. you are def using web browser to flash ?

2. you are using a image already patched i recommend dreamboxuk v2.1 as its already setup for uk tv

3. if your using a diff image you muct flash ssl82 or 84 over the top before reboot

Have you tried an image with mfaraj''s 84 ssl patch over the top. This should update the bootloader .
