[QUOTE=deegee7456;1316278]Has a similar problem when my 800se arrived. Had to open box and fully push down tuner to make it connect. Also noticed that the ring was slack at the back where it attaches to the base unit.

Don't know if it had become loose during transit or it just had been poorly assembled.

Mine is the one with the usb at the front and mini flashup at the rear.
What image do you use? Flashed it with Openpli with boot 84A for sim 2.01.

Still the same problem - Tuner A empty!!

Should be Sim 2.10 not 2.01

I'm using SIM2_SSL84a-Newnigma2, which I'm finding good at the moment.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but do I just upload the image and the bootloaders are contained in that image and that's it?

I read somewhere that you have to pull the tuner up to fix this problem, might be worth a try
              regards....mikie.

              remember to support the board

My tuner plugs into the m/b not directly but via a slot like a pci socket which is soldered to the m/b. There is a green led lit on the tuner so it is getting power.

This is supposed to be one of the newer dm800se with the mini flashup at the back and an extra usb at the front.

Had the tuner out, cleaned the connections and reinstalled. Still the same. It was mentioned previously to try different images as the tuner drivers may not be loaded.

By the way, how do I load drivers separately?

did you try the dreamboxuk image as that already has the patched tuner drivers within the image

Yip, all drivers and bootloaders are contained within that image.

seems to be something more sinister wrong with it

I will have a look at it mate, and see if i can get it working for you!

sometimes though the best way i have found is to try try and try again, but if you have exhausted all the avenues then its better to get a second opinion!

hopefully i will get it sorted as opposed to sending it back to China and waiting for them to receive and make a decision

But hopefully i will receive it tomorrow and get it up and running for you!.

Dreambox is now up and running. Tuner was u/s. Thanks to Andy 211081 for troubleshooting the problem for me.

The supplier from China I got the box from was not playing ball and required me to send the tuner back to them before sending out a new one. I, however had already sourced a new tuner from Yaoxin which arrived yesterday and worked perfectly.

I set up a dispute with Paypal with the supplier of my box and now Paypal are going to offer me a full refund, even though I only sent the tuner back to the supplier. Of course before Paypal offered me the refund, the supplier was pleading with me to cancel the claim, now I know why.

Have a moral dilemma now. The supplier wants me to pay them the cost of the box again as I have been refunded. I'll wait until the exchange tuner arrives (could always do with a spare).
Have to think long about this one....
