    the dfference of the 800SE and 500HD?

    I currently have a openbox s9, but have decide it is time to upgrade and get a better EPG.

    HD, upgrades and EPG are the most important to me.

    So my choices are a 500HD or a 800HD-SE, but I can not see what my gains would be buying the 800HD-SE over the 500HD.

    Is there anything you can do wth the 800HD-SE that you can not do with the 500HD.

      Hi genuine or clone? I have a genuine DM500HD but same connections for clone.
      (1)First no usb so i would have liked to store Picons etc on a flash drive.
      (2)Drive mount is only esata external and needs to be powered so even if you use a 2.5" drive it needs to be powered.
      No mountable internal drive, apart from the lack of connectivity and an oled display I cant see the benefit given the choice I miss not having the usb ports and if i did would mount an external DVD drive and you would have a complete multimedia box.

          Only 1 winner here, 800-se.

          only 1 reason needed also, and thats support. LOADS of support for the 800-se here, just have a look around. DM500hd on the other hand is a different matter.

              i have both models both original and as far as
              quality speed of chn changes and scanning the sats etc:
              there is no difference between the models the 800 se has
              the coloured oled screen and two usb ports plus a tuner
              that is like the 800 and can be changed plus two card slots
              the 500hd has no oled one card slot and no usb ports there
              is just over ?100 between these two models and as for support
              every major image team post images for the 8000/800.800se/500
              at all updates also with the coloured scren i have found two images
              that keep it coloured most it just shows blk/wht like the dm800 model
              and both models work well with a hd on esata also the tuner on the 500
              that looks exactly like the tuner in the se model is fixed and looks a major job
              if it needs changing,

                  For small difference of Price (15% on clones), the DM800se is much more...

                  - 2 smartcard readers
                  - Extractable tuner
                  - OLED Color front panel
                  - HDD installable
                  - 2 x USB (on DM500HD Clone there is 1 hopefully)
