just a quick update, received the box yesterday, couldn't power it on as it had a faulty power supply (it took me a good hour to realise that, and after some readings on the forums). good thing i had a spare 12 v power supply for one of my external hdd, that did the trick and box powered on. remote control was very poor build and could not hold the batteries..buttons are not good quality too,but this is to be expected from clones,i'll see if i can find an original one for sale on e-bay or forums.. Anyway box is working and rebooting fine after i have squize-tested it, i like the picture quality so far, and tuner is top notch. fan is near to silent, and box is literally cold all the time.

also tested it as a media player, playing .xvid's and .mkv's from my portable hdd, and it does them smoothly with 0 crashes.recorded from hd channels without problems.
    That doesnt sound very good,.............

perhaps ill hold off for the vu duo clone thats supposedly due
