any overheating on 800 pro?

i might be buying a 800hd pro and just wanted to check that the overheating problem was only with 800hd not pro as it has fan from my reading also most probably won't be adding hard drive if that makes a difference

Hi mate it does not have the overheating issues which the 800 did but it does still heat up.

If you go with a SE you wont even feel any heat to your receiver at all.

800 PRO doesnt suffer from overheating problems as such. But it's internal fan is very small and low quality. You will find the fans bearings get noisy within a few months, it's not an effective cooling solution.
Best thing to do is buy a cheap laptop/netbook cooler USB powered and sit the bix on top of this.
The 800SE due to better internal case design, larger internal software controllable fan and physically larger size for airflow makes it a much more efficient box in terms of cooling.

i agree with gsmtech get your self a laptop external cooling fan and it will be nice and cool with no issues

i have a dm800 pro. it doesnt get hot but warm. i got a laptop cooler from poundland extended the lead to plug into the usb on tv, so when you turn tv off it also turns off the fan. best pound i ever spent!
