Auto language selection? dm800hd clone

currently running a blackhole image, I can change the language using the yellow button however I can not see anyway to set the language so it does not need to be changed so often.

Hope there is a plugin for this

Unfortunately there is no plugin. Once you set the language on the channels, restart the GUI from the menu and it saves the settings.

Well I guess the obvious question would then be...
Where does it save this information?

Most likely in the Lamedb channel list.

Bit of a side question, not worth starting a new thread, can I back up my channel lists / boutiques by saving those Lamedb files by just ftp'ing them to me PC or do I need to save more info than this?

I am thinking of doing this so that when I update an image all is not lost.

You need the lamedb and all the Bouquets/userbouquet files from /etc/enigma2. If you use something like Dreamset, it can grab all the required files and let you edit the Bouquets too.

BTW, most images have a settings backup option in the software manager, just set it to backup the /etc/enigma2 folder if not already set, then when you change image you restore the backup and much of the work is already done.
