Using two receiver's in the one room

I want to use my 800SE and 800 Pro in the same room and same location (TV unit).

This will be a sort of solution to a twin tuner.

The problem is if you use the remote it will effect both receivers. I remember a while back I seen a plugin that would stop this from happening.

So do any of use know were I can find this plugin? Or know of another solution to this problem?

DB Switch
If you have two dreambox receivers in the same room you can use this to assign a key to each receiver so that the same remote doesn't operator both receivers at the same time.

download the one below unzip and do this


- copy the 2 files (db_switch_1.*) to "/var/tuxbox/plugins" (in Box1)

- copy the 2 files (db_switch_2.*) to "/var/tuxbox/plugins" (in Box2)

- copy the file (dbswitch) to "/var/tuxbox/plugins"

chmod 755

Thanks mate so how does this work is there then a plugin to assign buttons to each receiver?

have a play with it

go to the plugin menu and select dbswitch and follow the onscreen options
you can then control the two dreamboxes with one remote
to switch between boxes you have to enter a pass which you setup onscreen

the plugin was originally made for dm500

iv tried this on a dm800 and its not showing up
so this is a non runner
there is no other dbswitch plugin for dm800/e2 that i know of

unless someone else pipes in and says otherwise

No idea if the plugin works but on an 800 the plugins folder is /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions

it dont work on a dm800

there is a plugin called MultiRC for e2 images
it doz the same as db switch

Think I am just going to leave it to be honest get saving for the Ultimo if it ever shows face

im hoping for dual tuner s2 for dm800se , or Vu Duo clones

Not interested in the Vu Duo clone for a start I dont have much hope in it and second the price on it is not that great.

If there was a twin tuner for the the se clone released I would go for it but still want the Vu+ Ultimo come on it justs screams at you 'you have to have me' and if reports are right you could have 6 sat feeds going in to it or a twin tuner, terristrial, and cable...... I would go with 3 twin tuners

And would you invent the 72 hour day so you would have time to watch everything you would record from 6 feeds ??????????????
